Dr. Saulius Gudžius is the director of the Lithuanian Energy Institute and a professor at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU). He has a PhD in Energy and Thermal Engineering and over thirty years of experience in the energy sector. He is a former long-time head of the Department of Electrical and Energy Systems at KTU and, as he describes himself, an “advocate for energy.” Currently, he is actively contributing to the energy transition and the development of innovative technologies needed by the business sector – he is also the founder of two innovative companies. His completed projects demonstrate his exceptional expertise, including a project for the development and implementation of a modern renewable energy system that won the prestigious “Energy Globe Award”. Dr. S. Gudžius places great importance on attracting and nurturing the next generation of researchers to ensure the continued development of the energy sector and the creation of innovations.
